Selling Your Home at the holidays. Some think the end of the year

When selling your home during the holiday… – Part 2

2nd thing to do when selling your home during the holiday….

Selling: There may be fewer buyers actively looking on the market during the holidays and these cold winter months, but more of these buyers will be serious prospects who are also making their home search a priority. Work with your listing agent to develop an appropriate pricing strategy that works for you and that will also catch the attention of potential buyers.

Make your home look it’s best. Make sure your home is showing better than it has in years. So many times we meet with our sellers and after doing all of the items on our list to prepare for market they always say they wish they’d done everything while they lived there. There are things you should do no matter what time of year you’re listing your home, but it can be even more important during the holiday season. Out-of-town guests, holiday decorations and winter weather can all be challenges to getting your home in showing condition, but the end result will be worth it. Holiday lighting, a fire crackling in the hearth, and festive decorations can make a home feel inviting and appealing but only if it’s been executed correctly. Think classic and minimal. A common mistake is some go over board with holiday lawn ornaments, multiple trees, dining room tables loaded with Christmas place settings and multi-colored lights could be a major distraction for buyers. Less is more, always.
