These qualities are just a few of the reasons why St. Louis was mentioned as one of the top ten real estate markets to watch in 2016 by Realtor.com, coming in second place behind Providence, Rhode Island.  Factors used to determine the rankings included using previous trends and seasonal variations of housing and economic data for more than 90 of the largest markets in the country and then using a statistical model that predicts the value of future home prices and sales.  These markets were then evaluated alongside the U.S. average to see which ones were equal or better.
