Recently Rick and I had Tom Lyons on our radio show to discuss the holidays at Union Station & the SANTA EXPRESS TRAIN RIDE!
The Santa Express offers the North Pole Railway’s happiest real round-trip train ride from the North Pole Village at St. Louis Union Station to Santa’s house and Toy Factory. During the 45-minute train ride, passengers will hear the classic Clement Moore poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas and interact and sing along with Santa’s elves and the train conductor. As riders approach Santa’s House, they’ll witness an amazing, never-before-seen laser projection light show synced to holiday tunes.
All Santa Express ticket holders have access to the sights inside North Pole Village including enjoying a hot chocolate and holiday cookie from Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen and a Meet & Greet with Santa Claus in Santa-land for a photo opportunity (picture packages available for purchase).
Tickets are available in heated Standard, First Class and Premium Class cars. Each car is named for one of Santa’s hard-working reindeer. Tickets range in price from $39 to $89. Children two years of age and younger ride free with a paid adult admission.
The Santa Express will leave the station at 4:45 p.m., 6:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays beginning November 18 and continuing through December 30. An 8:30 p.m. departure also rolls on Fridays and Saturdays, November 18, 19, 25, 26 and December 2, 3, 9 and 10 and then daily from December 15 – 24. There are no trains operating on Thanksgiving Day, December 5, December 13 and Christmas Day.
